The art of a good kiss
By Simone from Happytoys.nl
I love kissing. A good kiss can say so much more than a thousand words. It can be exciting, romantic, playful, or wonderfully familiar. And honestly? A great make-out session is, in my opinion, one of the best ways to build tension between two people.
You don't need to learn any complicated techniques. The most important thing is to tune into each other, pay attention to the other's reaction, and above all, not overthink it.
Still, there are a few little things that can make a kiss just that bit better.
Start with a little attention
A good kiss actually begins before your lips even touch. Look at each other, smile, and take your time. Those few seconds of tension can be just as fun as the kiss itself.
And don't forget the practical side. Fresh breath and soft lips naturally make a difference. A glass of water, a mint, or a bit of lip balm can work wonders.
No rush
A first kiss absolutely doesn't have to be intense right away. Starting slowly can actually increase the tension. A soft kiss, pulling back for a moment, and then drawing closer again can be much more exciting than going all-out immediately.
And not sure if the other person is in the mood for a kiss? Simply asking can be surprisingly attractive. A simple “May I kiss you?” can be very intimate.
A good kiss is all about variety
There is no perfect kissing technique that works for everyone. Everyone has different preferences. That’s why variety is often the best approach.
Start softly and see how the other person reacts. If the kiss becomes a bit more enthusiastic, you can go along with it. Then, you can slow down again.
Listen with your body
You don't have to constantly ask if something feels good while kissing. You can also pay attention to body language.
Is the other person moving closer? Is the kiss becoming more intense? Are they relaxing? Then you’re probably on the right track.
And the same applies in reverse. If something doesn't feel comfortable, you are always allowed to slow down or stop.
Don't forget your hands
Kissing isn't just about your lips. Your hands can add just as much to the moment.
An arm around someone, a hand on their back, or gently stroking their hair can make a kiss much warmer and more personal.
Give each other small signals
You don't always have to explain in detail what you enjoy. A small touch or pulling someone a little closer can be enough to let them know you're enjoying it.
But talking is, of course, perfectly fine. In fact: discovering what the other person enjoys can be part of the excitement.
A kiss doesn't always have to be the same
A kiss on the lips is the classic, of course, but there are many other ways to show affection.
A kiss on the cheek, neck, or forehead can be very tender. A playful kiss can feel completely different from a romantic one.
Play with the tempo
One of my favorite tips is simple: don't always do the same thing.
A few soft kisses, pulling away for a moment, looking at each other, and then moving closer again—it can be a very fun way to build tension.
Music playing in the background? Feel free to sway to the rhythm, but above all: do what feels natural.
And what about a French kiss?
Here too: take it easy and feel what works for you both.
A French kiss doesn't have to be exaggerated or complicated. In fact, small movements and variety can be much more pleasant than doing too much at once.
And yes… sometimes your teeth clash
Anyone who kisses regularly probably knows: ouch! Teeth bumping together.
No problem. Just laugh, say sorry, and carry on. It’s part of discovering each other’s rhythm.
Make kissing part of your relationship
By the way, a kiss doesn't have to be reserved for exciting moments only.
A kiss when you see each other in the morning. A kiss before you head to work. A kiss when you get home. Or just because, simply because you want to let each other know you're happy together.
Small moments make a big difference
As a relationship continues, such small gestures can sometimes be taken for granted. That’s exactly why I think it’s important to keep doing them consciously.
A kiss doesn't need a reason. Sometimes “because I feel like kissing you” is reason enough.
From kissing to more excitement
A good kiss can naturally be the start of more intimacy. When you both feel like exploring further, you can slowly expand the atmosphere.
For example, with gentle touches, massage, lingerie, or a toy. At Happytoys, you’ll find several small vibrators that are also great for discovering together, such as the Seven Creations Ladyfinger Mini Vibrator.
Want to try something new together? Then a small, simple toy can be a fun way to step outside your usual routine.
Discovering together
The Seven Creations Rabbit Finger Vibrator is also an example of a compact toy you can experiment with together.
But ultimately, the toy isn't the most important thing. It’s about the two of you, the tension, the trust, and above all, the fun.
My most important tip: enjoy it
If I could give one piece of advice, it is this: don't overthink whether you are doing it “right.”
A good kiss isn't an exam. It’s not about perfect techniques or complicated tricks. It’s about attention, attraction, communication, and tuning in to one another.
So look at each other, come closer, take your time, and most importantly, discover what you both enjoy.
And perhaps that is, after all, the best technique of all: kiss like you mean it.
Love,
Simone
